Getting Frustrated
This weekend we heard a rumor that a package was coming from China and then we learned that it contained travel notices for 2 special needs families instead of our referrals. UGH! Good for them but upsetting for us. Then on Sunday night Mark and I checked the website in China and learned that referrals were sent out to families but only those who are logged in by May 25th. Our agency didn't receive any of those referrals because we are their next group and our log in date is May 31st. It is so confusing. We knew that 1800 families had applied the same month as us and that is triple the amount that they usually receive in a month. I am getting more frustrated now than ever because I know that we could get called any day and it is kind of hard living like that. We have been waiting for this since November, we should have had her by now. I know it is totally out of our control, I really haven't been affected by it until now. Our moderator through AAI says that referrals can come twice a month and that our lady in China will check in with the CCAA next week and check the status. Evidently we are still in the matching room. We have been in there since December. I wonder how old she is and I know that she is getting older while we wait. Our fingerprints need to be redone again because of our long wait. I pray that the rest of our documents don't have to be re-done. It gets expensive and time consuming. We did learn that my cousin Steve and his wife Trudi who are adopting also have the same log in date as us, that is just miraculous considering all of the families being processed. Wouldn't that be exciting to see them in China! We both started the process at the same time and didn't know each other was adopting! Hopefully we both hear on the same day, that would be wonderful! Dayton is getting afraid that we will be there over his birthday on May 1st. We are getting into our really busy season and I would love to have time for all of us to enjoy being a family before living at the ball fields for 3 months! Patience ,patience I know.......

Valentines Day
Tonight Dayton bridged over from cub scouts to Boy Scouts. It was emotional for me because Debbie and I had been the leaders for 5 years. The time has flown. I will miss seeing the parents on a regular basis. I was grateful that Dayton was able to attend. A few months ago we thought that we might miss it due to being in China and he was disappointed. That was our last big thing on our agenda so now I really feel like the call should be coming. The CCAA should be back to work now after being closed the last 2 weeks for Chinese New Year. We'll see what happens. Anything is possible! I am carrying my cell phone everywhere now! I said knowing my luck I will get the call while I am in Target, I swear I live in that place! Mark surprised me with roses from my adoption buddy Laura's flower shop today, I was so touched that he drove all the way to Fowlerville after work and before the cub scout banquet. My scouts got me beautiful flowers too, it feels like spring in my house now! Tomorrow night I meet up with my adoption mommies in Lansing, I can't wait to see them! We are all getting pretty geeked! I have had so many emails today and people signing the guest book, it has really become emotional! Feeling the love of everyone and knowing that so many people care about us and love Myah already just makes the process start to feel very real. Finally! Everyone keeps saying that they feel so bad about asking us if we have heard anything . We don't mind at all, actually it makes it seem like she is part of our everyday life. This waiting is a bit stressful, but it is also exciting and unpredictable. It is definately a test of our patience and I think we are passing! Luckily Dayton keeps us running so much that time does go by quickly! We just take advantage of these moments and days that we have left with just the three of us. Hopefully next Feb. 14th we will have Myah here to make valentines with! Mark got me a book from her today, it was very sweet. I need to go... time to blow my kisses into the wind.

Kisses In the Wind
Kisses in the Wind
February 13, 2006
I hold you in my heart and
touch you in my dreams.
You are here each day with me,
At least that's how it seems.
I know you wonder where we are...
What's taking us so long.
But remember child, I love you so
And God will keep you strong.
Now go outside and feel the breeze
And let it touch your skin..
Because tonight as always,
I blow you kisses in the wind.
May God hold you in His hand
Until I can be with you.
I promise you my darling,
I'm doing all that I can do.
Very soon you'll have a family for real
Not just for pretend.
But for tonight, just as always,
I blow you kisses in the wind.
May God wrap you very tight.
And let the Angels bring the kisses
That I send to you each night.

Were You Born Today? Were you born today across the ocean deep and blue?Did someone wrap you warmly? Did they stop and gaze at you?Did they look upon your almond eyes and touch your silken hair?Did they stop to kiss each tiny toe, hear your breath upon the air?Did you hear a soft voice comforting, securely in her arms? The warmth of two souls bonding, Oh, the lure of newborn charms. Were they charmed by every movement; every yawn and stretch and pout?Did they celebrate with handshakes and good spirits all about?(Or were the tears mistaken, as they fell upon your face?Their eyes were wells of sorrow? Their heads hung in disgrace?Did they tremble when they realized the thing that would be done?Did they mourn the new day coming, with the rising of the sun?)Did they place you, oh so tenderly, in the place where you werefound? Were those blankets wrapped up tightly to deny the cold, hard ground?Did she whisper words of comfort with a love that was so deep?Did she recognize the features of this one she could not keep?Did you feel the night wind blowing as it carried in the morn?Did you hear your mother weeping on the day that you were born? And here across the ocean a mother weeps for you.How long before she travels `cross that ocean, deep and blue? How long before she gazes at those little dimpled hands? How long before she travels to that promised, distant land? Her heart is filled with gladness. Her dreams are coming true. The secret thrill of motherhood, across that ocean deep and blue. And she'll gaze upon your almond eyes and touch your silken hair. She'll stop and kiss each tiny toe….feel your breath upon the air.And you'll hear a soft voice comforting; the worlds so insecure. Two fragile souls are bonding as they hold each other near. She'll be charmed by every movement; every yawn and stretch and pout. And she'll celebrate with handshakes and good spirits all about. And you'll hear the night wind blowing as she rocks you off to sleep. And she'll whisper words of comfort, with a love that is so deep......And far across the ocean a mother weeps.....-Mary E. We Are Getting So Close
We could seriously get the call any day now! We started this whole process over a year ago and we were told in the beginning that it would take 11 months from start to finish. However, we have learned that the Chinese do things when they are ready and you just have to have faith in the system and know that no matter how long your delay is, there really is an end in sight. And in the end you receive the most beautiful and precious gift, your daughter. Everyone is so excited for us and it just adds to the joy of this process. I really feel like we will be sharing her with everyone! We have really been on a roller coaster ride with the waiting since November. We have found out that we were in the matching room in December so we figure that by now she has been chosen for us. What a feeling! I try to not dwell on that fact because is does make me sad and I really don't want to wait any longer. I know that we all are in love with her already and the thought of her living without us truly breaks our hearts. We went and bought a new mini van today, with a dvd player! We are finishing up odds and ends so that when she arrives there will be fewer things to worry about and we can just enjoy her. Dayton wrote a note to his 4th grade pen pal and said that he didn't have any brothers or sisters but that he is getting a sister from China. It really touched me to read that, he is going to be great with her. Mark and I just celebrated our 20th year together in Chicago and it was a great time for us to get away before the big trip. We went to the American Girl store and bought Myah a Bitty Baby doll that is Chinese, I can't wait till she gets older and we can take the girls to lunch there! So much to look forward to. If only the phone would ring!!!
