The Rumors Are True

Unfortunately, the rumor was true that the CCAA was only sending out referrals for dossiers logged in by May 30th. We missed it by one day. They only sent out from the 25th to the 30th of May. Very dissapointing to say the least. We had a travel meeting tonight at our agency and saw several of the families in our group. Needless to say we were all pretty bummed. I am so thankful to be on this journey with these people, we are all trying to keep our sanity and our patience. Now we are thinking we will probably travel in June, I guess it is supposed to be pretty hot, great. We are going into our 5th month of over-due news. I think we are all getting a little testy around our house. Dayton stayed home from school today with a stomach ache, he says he is feeling stressed about the news. I feel so bad for him. He wants this more than anyone. We have to pick ourselves up and keep pressing on and trusting that we have no control over the situation and take each day as it comes. One more month, I just can't believe it. It was nice to be at our agency tonight, helped motivate us again and gave us a boost of what is to come. I can't wait to get our little girl, the only plus to this delay is knowing that there are no other dates ahead of us, we have to be next. Today in the car I was listening to Wynonna Judd, she has always been one of my fav's and her song "Your Day Will Come" came on and I played it over and over, music has always been a big part of my life and sometimes the perfect song gets me through the day and this really helped me today, I think I will put it on the site, I need a change and you probably do too! Please keep us in your prayers!

Not Looking Good

Once again we have learned that we probably won't be included in this month's batch of referrals. We hear rumors that CCAA is only sending out referrals for families logged in from May 26th to May 30th. We are logged in on May 31st. You can imagine how upset we were to hear the news. Evidently their is a glimmer of hope that we may be included but the big agencies are reporting a cut off date of the 30th. Which in a nutshell means that we have to wait yet another month now. I feel pretty numb right now. We finally were getting excited knowing that this would be our week and then to learn that the CCAA may have only processed a few day worth of referrals and that they aren't even going to finish out the May referrals really took the wind out of our sails. It would really take a miracle now for us to go to China before June. We have learned that CCAA has 400 dossiers logged in on May 31st. It has taken 3 months for them to send out a month's worth of referrals. I know this is all so confusing. Believe me it is to us too. We know for sure that we have to get a referral next (hope April). We have been in limbo waiting for our referral since November. Our spirits were pretty low yesterday but the reality is setting in today and we just have to cling to our faith and know that this will eventually happen. I am so thankful for such supportive family and friends, they keep us laughing. Tabitha took me shopping and to lunch today to get my mind off of things, she is a great friend! Please keep praying for us and hope for the slim chance that we are included this month. I can't wait to see little Myah's face and feel a connection with her. Patience, patience I know......

So Close!

Today marks the first day of spring and hopefully the beginning of our last week of waiting to get our referral. Many have speculated that we would hear by this Friday. I sure hope so, we could use some good news. My Uncle Cleo died last week and we were so busy with the funeral and out of town guests that I was really hoping that the referral wouldn't come amongst all of the confusion. I wanted to be able to give 100% to both situations. We went to Sheri and John Winter's on Saturday and had a get together with the families that we are adopting with. Out of 12 couples, 10 were able to make it. We had a blast and we look even more forward to going to China now. We joked that the Chinese will kick us out for laughing too much. Everyone has a story and a reason for adopting and you really get a sense that they are just as anxious as we are to add to our family. We were sure hoping that we would have had our referral pictures to share with each other but that will give us another excuse to get together. One mom is an OB-Gyn at Providence hospital and a dad is a Pediatric Intensive Care Dr. so I really feel lucky that we will have some experts on hand. We hope that this week we will finally get the call that we have waited so long for! We had 3 babies staying with us last week so the house is pretty much baby proofed now! We are ready!

Re-Fingerprinted

Today we had to return to the Immigration Office in Detroit to be re-fingerprinted. Our current prints are due to expire on May 10th and the way things are going we won't be able to travel with our group if we didn't have our prints updated due to the chance that they could expire while we are out of the country. We had sent a letter last month per advise from AAI to Immigration and just received an appointment notice on Saturday in the mail. Unfortunately, the appt. wasn't until March 29th. Our agency said that would be too late and that we should just show up at the Immigration Office today and beg them to re-print us without an appointment. We expected them to reject our request and had a few phone #'s on hand in case we had resort to going over their heads. Mark has an FBI contact and he is friend's with the head of the Immigration office in Detroit. He was very helpful yesterday and was going to go to bat for us if we needed to. We were really stressing about going this morning. God was with us today when we walked in and they said that they would try to fit us in due to the adoption pending and the urgency. We were the only English speaking couple in there. We laughed because they had the Spiderman movie on in the waiting area but the volume was turned down. Evidently no one could understand what they were saying anyways. So we watched the whole movie with no sound! Finally, our numbers were called and they were able to squeeze us in after and hour and a half. We were willing to wait the whole day if we had to. Bless their hearts for being so helpful and understanding. I pray that this is our last snag in our paperwork for a while! Everyone has been so supportive to us and we sure appreciate everyone's enthusiasm, it really makes the waiting more bearable! The other day our friend said that God is just making her perfect for us that is why we are waiting so long. I thought that was so sweet of him to say. It is the truth. At the end of the week the weather is supposed to be getting warmer, I really think that putting these long winter months behind us will help the time pass faster, the sunshine is so encouraging, and gives us hope that spring is coming soon!

Big Brother Dayton

Dayton is going to be such a great big brother. He can hardly wait to go to China with us and play with his new little sister. Little sister in Chinese is Mei Mei. Brother is Ge Ge.
