Seventeen Months Old
How appropriate that this month we feel as if we have turned a new leaf in our family. So many changes have taken place over the past two weeks. Little Myah just becomes more and more comfortable with us. She has really opened up her little heart and accepted us and all that we have to give her. Since she started walking last month, her world has opened up, she literally walks around the house all day long. We took her for her check up and the Dr. was very pleased with her health and the progress that she is making physically and emotionally. It is just amazing to me that we brought her home 5 months ago today. I was reading my entries from our China trip and I just can't believe how much Myah has changed. She is so funny, we laugh at/with her all day long. She is definately head strong "spicy" as the Chinese call it. She is getting better at "going with the flow" on a daily basis. Today I took her to get groceries and she was an angel, a few months ago we couldn't make it down the first aisle before I was ready to leave. She is a smart litte thing, she is saying new words almost on a daily basis also, her favorite words are, Dayton, ball and shoes. Her new trick is to go to the refrigerator or pantry and beg for a snack. Now that she can walk she is able to interact with us so much more. She even walked up to me the other day and was trying to get my attention about something, I finally figured out that she was telling me that she had gone potty! Let's hope that she will potty train easy! We have had a major event happen in our house this past week as Mark became a police Lieutenant. We had learned the day before we received our travel notice in May that Mark would be promoted but that it wouldn't be until November, I remember thinking about how far away it seemed. Honestly I can't believe that the time went so fast. He is on midnights for a while so we are trying to get used to a baby and nights again, just like when we had Dayton! We are all getting adjusted to this new lifestyle and hopefully in a few weeks it will all be routine. As Thanksgiving approaches, we are really excited to share these special holidays with our families. Many of our family members will be meeting Myah for the first time, she is a charmer and I know they will love her instantly. I was finally able to meet up with my Adoption Buddies on Monday, this was the first time that the 4 of us had been able to get together since before we got the girls. It was so fun, we met at the mall, and did we ever get looks while pushing our beauties! We definatley are thankful for all of the wonderful people that we have met throughout our adoption, they are like family to us. We can't wait to gather with our family and friends to celebrate in the coming days, we pray that you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy these weeks ahead as we aproach the most magical season!
