Fifteen Months Old
Has it really been 3 months since "Gotcha Day"? The time is just flying by. Dayton started school yesterday and today is his first full day back. Myah has already been looking around for him. He has been home with her ever since we have had her. It seems very different having a baby at home now too when he leaves! So many changes, it's all good. Myah has been making many strides in her development this past month. She is walking! Wow! She has taken at the most 14 steps at a time but she can get around pretty good between walking on the furniture and scooching everywhere. She has really claimed this place as her home and feels very comfortable. At the Dr. the other day she weighed 24 pounds and was 32" tall. She is doing great! She is an imitator and loves barking like a dog, meowing like a kitten and roaring like a lion. She also likes to try to climb the stairs at any chance she can get. We keep them gated off so she can't get to them. One day we followed behind her just to see how far she could go and she actually made it to the top, she only stumbled 2 times ( I caught her of course!). She has no fear! We went to a birthday party for one of the girls that was in our adoption group and we got to see 3 other girls from Myah's orphanage, they are all doing so well, it was great to see them. Many of you have asked and we are still collecting quilt squares for Myah's 100 wishes quilt. If you would like to contribute please let us know, I will try to post a folder on here so you can get the information, we would love to have your participation in this special keepsake for her. Myah also has two new friends in the world, our friends the Steckels had their twin girls on Sept. 1st, they were premature but are doing well, please keep them in your prayers that they can bring them home soon! We sure have appreciated all of your love for our family and the support that you continue to give us, we need it! Myah has finally started to cuddle with us and it is just wonderful, each new day we feel like we are gaining her love and trust. She actually holds onto me and Mark the way Dayton used to when we rock her to sleep or carry her to bed. It is just precious and reaffirms our decision to adodpt over and over again. We needed her love just as much as she needed ours. PS: There is a new song on the Homepage, Martina is my all-time favorite and this song reminds me of Myah.
